DUTIES/QUALIFICATIONS

JOB PROFILE: (Purpose of the position)
- Answer incoming and make outgoing business calls and provide customer service responding in a courteous and helpful manner. Update customer database records as appropriate in order to ensure the best possible service for our customers. Offer Unity products as appropriate in conjunction with organizational objectives. Complete routed mail by most effective means.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: (Functions essential to attaining job objectives)
- Provide accurate information and prompt service to callers - maintain patient, calm, and courteous manner while on the phone.
- Respond to customer requests and inquiries following written Customer Service procedures.
- Take customer orders for books, subscriptions, gifts, free literature and other Unity products over the phone and make recommendations as appropriate. Enter required order information into customer database.
- Make sales recommendations of products that support organizational objectives.
- Make outgoing calls as appropriated.
- Complete routed mail by most efficient means (written or verbal).
- Make appropriate adjustments and corrections to customer records in database system.
- Maintain confidentiality of all work.
- Work overtime as required.
- Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.
- Comply with all Unity policies and rules.
- Regular attendance required.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of six month’s experience in data entry. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills over the telephone and in writing. Must be able to remain patient, calm, and courteous when dealing with callers. Experience in customer service and/or sales preferred.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to hear and comprehend customer requests and inquiries over the telephone and communicate answers clearly to customers. Ability to sit for extended periods of time entering data at mainframe terminal and or personal computer, answering customer telephone calls, and composing written responses to customer enquiries - up to 80% of the workday. Ability to read and comprehend printed documents and computer screens. Ability to move documents between locations in the department - not to exceed 10 pounds.
