for Your unlimited abundance, which
flows through

new paths of growth
for our service
to the world.”
Give a Planned Gift
There are several benefits to including Unity in your will:
  • Your bequest creates a lasting legacy of support for Unity and its
    important spiritual work.

  • It allows you to make a significant contribution that you might have been unable to make during your lifetime.

  • Your bequest assures you that your gift will make a difference in the world, no matter what you are able to give.

  • There are also estate tax benefits to making a bequest. One of the best ways to save on federal estate taxes is to provide for a charitable bequest in your will. Gifts to Unity, a tax-exempt organization under Section 501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code, are deductible for computing income and estate taxes.
There are several options when it comes to remembering Unity in your will:
  • You may decide to leave Unity a specific bequest, which means that you leave a specific dollar amount or a specific item of property to Unity.

  • Or you may leave Unity a residual bequest. A residual bequest provides for your family and friends first, while leaving the balance of your estate to Unity.

  • A contingent bequest names Unity as a beneficiary in your will only under certain circumstances. For instance, you may wish to name Unity as a beneficiary of your estate if certain named individuals do not survive you.

  • We suggest that in including Unity in your will, you use our official, incorporated name which is Unity School of Christianity and that you say it is located in Unity Village, Missouri.

We recommend that you consult a knowledgeable estate planning attorney and ask which type of bequest will be the most beneficial for you.
