Give a Planned Gift

A charitable gift annuity is a contract between you and Unity that entitles you to receive fixed payments for life. You transfer cash or other assets, such as stock, to Unity in exchange for guaranteed, regular payments for the rest of your life.

The amount of the annuity payment is determined by your age at the time the annuity is created and remains fixed for your lifetime. You receive an immediate charitable deduction for the gift value of the annuity. In addition, a portion of each annuity payment is free of income tax.

Upon the death of the annuitant, the charitable gift annuity will be used to continue Unity’s work of serving those who turn to us for inspiration, prayer support, and spiritual growth.

The advantages of a Charitable Gift Annuity are:

  • The annuity rate is based on your age.

  • You receive an immediate income tax deduction. In addition, a portion of each annuity payment is tax-free.

  • Any long-term capital gain is prorated over the life of the annuity if you use appreciated stock to fund an annuity.

  • Your annuity is backed by all the assets of Unity.

  • There are many payment options—monthly, quarterly, semiannually, or annually—to meet your financial needs.
