Overview & Syllabus:
How to Let God Help You

Introduction

What This Course Is About
Embark on a rich adventure. Through an in-depth reading of Myrtle Fillmore’s How to Let God Help You, explore the Unity cofounder’s memorable observations about and suggestions for a more fulfilled, God-centered life. You’ll develop a practical understanding of the metaphysical foundations of her thought. And you’ll discover how you can craft a “tool kit” that will help you develop your practice of applying Truth principles in your life.

How the Course Is Presented
This is a telebridge course. You will be expected to participate in the weekly, 60- to 75-minute group discussions over the telephone.

Before the first class, you’ll receive a packet that includes telephone instructions and the Weekly Learning Guides with topic introductions, comments, and suggestions for what to look for in assigned weekly readings.

You should expect to spend about two hours each week on class assignments. For the final project, you will write a reflection paper.

Learning Objectives

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • Explain the essence of Myrtle Fillmore’s thought and apply her ideas to daily living.
  • Put a personal “tool kit” of tips and strategies into practice in your own life.
  • Demonstrate how you addressed—or plan to address—a situation in your life with the ideas you learned from this class.
